I started by painting four yellow roses but they stood out too much from the background. Since the paint was still wet, I took a paper towel and blurred the whole painting gaving me the perfect background. Then I repainted the roses with a blend of red and yellow and added roses and a bloom at the top to balance the whole painting. The lesson for today is that a so-so painting can be improved by blending all the colors and repainting the highlights.
