Precious Jewel
This is my first day in attempting to do a painting a day. I planned to paint a simple loaf of bread but I got distracted with beautiful Precious Jewel. I grabbed some brown and tan and started an image. When I was finished laying in all the color it looked flat and I couldn't make out my cat from the background. The lesson for today is that I solved my problem by adding a rich gold over the whole background. That provided a warm contrast to the cool colors of the cat, tied the background together and separated it from the focal point.
